Anonymous v. Anonymous (med. malpractice) A middle-aged lady was transported to a Middle Tennessee hospital, where she was admitted through the emergency room and transferred to the trauma unit. Despite the fact that the patient was exhibiting signs of shock and signs of blood loss she was inadequately monitored, the nurses ignoring serious changes in her condition which resulted in her death from exsanguination after an hour and a half in the trauma unit. Suit was brought by the husband. The patient also had four grown children who also participated in a loss of parental consortium claim. The parties settled on the day of trial for a confidential sum.
